Our founder created ESMI solely out of the desire for the people of the UK to have easier and greater access to affordable, sensible protection products. We firmly believe in treating customers fairly, and with us, the customer is always right!

Why do we do it?
ESMI was founded in 2012 by Andrew Tripp after having severe heart failure and experiencing the impact that ill-health can have on your life and those you provide for.
While in hospital Andrew spoke to fellow patients and was so shocked by how few of them had cover, or even savings in place to cope with time off work.
Worse still… out of the people he spoke to with pets, most had pet insurance in place, but no cover for themselves…
He learned that most had no cover as they perceived it to be too complex, too expensive, or that they wouldn’t be accepted.
He thought this was completely wrong, and was determined to do something about it.
Andrew spent 25 years of his career broking (selling) personal insurance, and knew just about all there was to know about the industry.
He devoted the remaining 4 years of his life to creating ESMI – a range of products he believed would truly offer the simple, affordable, and easy access cover the UK needed.
Andrew sadly passed away in 2016, but we at ESMI will always continue to uphold his dream and his legacy.
